VUCA-world (part 7)

According to the Atlas of New Professions (founders of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and Skolkovo), 57 professions are at risk of extinction, and specialized workers are doomed to fall into a career dead end. Managers and analysts in a number of industries, accountants, administrators and secretaries, lawyers and notaries, drivers, dispatchers, operators, economists, logisticians, cashiers and many others may lose their jobs by 2030.

Today, the demand for all skills related to digitalization is especially growing, incl. on technology skills and programming. If at present the level of involvement in such a field of activity is estimated at 11%, then in 2030 it will be 17% of working time.

According to the PWC study, 53% of workers believe that automation will significantly change or render their work obsolete over the next ten years (only 28% think this is unlikely). 80% of men acquire new skills due to robotization, compared with 74% of women.

I will continue to describe the paradigm that helps me adapt in a rapidly changing world. This paradigm consists of the following set of rules, goals, beliefs:

7. Observe calmness of mind and strive for inner harmony. The modern world stuffs Us with a huge amount of harmful, unnecessary or low-value information. Watching TV, reading and listening useless news, wasting time on social media, procrastination and chatter are just a few of our enemies.

I deliberately limit my viewing of the news (I read only headlines so as not to miss something truly important to me), practice transcendental meditation and yoga, during the day I try to stay in a state of awareness and sensitivity, plan and structure my every day to achieve goals and objectives of my life.

8. For myself, I consider the desire to become a man of the world. If you are tied to one country, keep all your savings accordingly, implement business projects, have housing in the territory of one country, then you are exposed to the risks of the political system, economic and other country risks. The modern global world opens up opportunities in order to live, work and do business in many countries and cities. All you need is financial resources, knowledge of languages, the presence of certain connections and the whole World opens up to you.

Today you can live in one country and do business in other country, work for another, make a digital product for clients all over the world. The worldwide remoteness, the development of technologies and online communications, the universal rise of digital products really opens up the opportunity to become a person of the World. I devote a significant part of my time now to acquire digital startup skills, to learn foreign languages, to model new potential projects and to expand my network of contacts. One of my most important goals today is not to depend on the domestic risks of our beautiful country.
