Viva the new VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity - instability, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity)! Now everyone is already taking in mind that everything around is changing at a tremendous speed, technologies are changing, the rules of the game are changing, the business environment and the labor market are changing, the usual leisure and communication methods are changing. According to some sources, the VUCA world is used in contrast to the recently gone forever period called the SPOD world, which was steady, predictable, ordinary and definite.

Let us now summarize everything written in the previous posts at the call level:

1. Instability, which includes rapid changes in social and professional life, new rules of the game. The working and business environment, demand for goods and services, promotion channels, business processes, business management systems will all change significantly in the foreseeable future.

2. Uncertainty, which includes the lack of ability to plan in the long term. The world is changing so quickly that we cannot know exactly what our company will be doing, what and how to sell our company, what exactly we will be doing and what specific skills and competencies we need for this, what our life will be like, our leisure and social connections.

3. Complexity is understood as a huge amount of information, systems, with which we have to work, study and manage. If earlier a good accountant had to know the Chart of Accounts, Tax Accounting and Accounting Principles, now he is already a business analyst who must understand the processes of the organization, optimize, integrate and automate accounting in accordance with other business processes, be able to analyze large amounts of information using software tools, have the skills to work in Jupyter notebook.

4. Ambiguity means a constant risk of making a mistake, ambiguous decisions can cause ambiguous results. There is also a possibility of receiving incorrect, irrelevant, ambiguous information, on the basis of which we will incorrectly build our goals and the future. To solve ambiguities problems may use: an analytical approach, clarification of goals and results, understanding the context of the application of results, skills in decomposing goals into practical tasks, skills in consistently analyzing and adjusting the results of our work.
